PLEASE READ!!!!!!!

Due to a letter I got from Palm.com I have decided to stop all

production of palm software.  I guess they think I'm harming

their company name by using the word Palm in my apps.

I added the name only to let people know what unit the program

was for.  So to keep any more harm being done to the company

I will not be listing any programs from now on with their name

or any program for the palm platform for all that matters.  I do

plan on writing software for use by myself and those I know.

Sorry for any inconvenience to you, but I feel it is what I need

to do.  I am planning on removing this page from my website,

so get the programs you want.  I have two weeks until I have

to have things done, but I am just going to cease any

public coding for Palm pda devices!

 Thanks.....Danny

update:  After a reply I got from them.  I have decided to just not make

my programs available on other websites.  I will keep pretty much all

my programs on here....if you want them...you will need to come here

to get them....that should be simple enough for you.

I have updated my 2 programs with names in accordance with the

wishes of Palm(R) and hence wont use their name in the future of

any of my software.

Any comments or suggestions are welcome.....Danny

Speed Check

status:

Done?

Did you ever ride in the back of a car or bus

and wander how fast you were moving?  Well

now you can check to see about how fast you

are going with a touch of a button.  This program

is used by pressing the start button when you are

beside a freeway mile marker and you press it

again at the very next mile marker and the

program calculates your approximate speed.

The lower number show is actually 1 second

added to the time as a variable time to give

a range to accommodate timing inaccuracies.

SwordDrill Helper

status:

Done?

This program was converted over from my

Windows version.  It will pick a random book,

then a random chapter from that book and

finally a random verse to be displayed

for Sword drill use.  I will eventually make

it so you can choose to only get OT or NT

verses or both as a default.  I also have it

show statistics of how many chapters were

available for the book chosen and how many

verses are in the chosen chapter which I will

make optional to show it on the screen.  The

program is working pretty well so far, but I got

a lot more work to do on it before release.  I

have included a beta version for those who

want to play around with it.  I don't need any

bug turned in as I only started on this thing today.

I got a lot of work and features to add, but any

suggestions would be welcome.  I don't plan

on adding any support for actually looking up

the verse like my windows version does as

the files are 2meg in size and interfacing to

the files are of no interest to me at this

point.

update:

Minor update, found bug with chapter

not being random and fixed it.  Also

fixed bug with not closing database as

I forgot to add that line to the code when

closing the program.

Ok, so you want to try out a

single frame game?  Ok...

I've tested it on palm IIIc, Visor

with palmOS 3.5 bw and my

samsung i330 phone and it works

pretty good.  This is only a single

frame game.  As in frame 1, no

higher.  But it will give you an idea

of what the game is like or if you

really care to put $9.95 into it when my

other version is still FREE! and plays

about the same.  I may be adding

a list of numbers that have been

used on the free version also.  That

way you only need to pay $9.95 if you

really have to have graphics.  Don't

count on all the graphics staying the

same including the icon.  I want to

get better looking cards and icons

but the gameplay was more

important.  Save game state is

now working.  When you get out

of the game and return it should

look the same as when you left.

One small bug is the place holders

don't show up all the time when

changing colors but all you have to

do is tap the screen and they will

return.  I tried the game on PalmOS

5 simulator with no luck.  I may

add support for 5 if I get enough

interest in the program, otherwise

sorry!  Uses 72k of palm ram.

Right now I'm using palmgear

for registration but I may take

paypal, just contact me and we

can go from there.  Paypal

email address is the same one

listed on this site.

update: 11-2-03

Added some support for palmOS5

The program works and didn't seem

to have any functionality problem

except the title disappears and the

word highscore at the top.  Needs more

work to be compatable to my likeing, but

I put it on here if someone with os5 REALLY

wanted to play/try it.

You may still register it if it works well enough

for you, but not sure when I'll get it fixed or if.

11-05-03

Added lots of stuff.  Change the looks of the

cards to user selected looks.  All accessed on

the options screen.  Working on an undo

option now but not enabled yet. (nor is

it working yet either!)

11-06-03

Added ability to change the color of

the selected Pin card.

11-07-03

Added ability to undo last command

11-14-03

Added graphical type scoreboard that

looks like regular bowling scores.  I

also made it user selectable to use text

for scoring or the better looking board.

Bowling Solitaire for PalmOS

This program that I'm working on has 10

"pins" or cards in the shape of a bowling

pins and is scored in the same fashion.

The picture shows the general layout of

the program and will have the rules for

playing once completed.  I have numbers

for all the pins right now and may add

graphical cards for the gameplay at a

later time if I get this completed and

there is enough interest in the game

as long as my ability can program the

cards on top of the buttons.  Either way,

here is the program I'm working on now.

update:

9-29-03

Ok, I got the thing working, well sort of.

The overall game play works pretty well

as long as you don't get a strike or spare

on frame ten as it wont go beyond

that right now.  It only allows you to

pick 3 cards like it is supposed to, but

it doesn't check to see if they are next

to each other as of yet.  I still don't have

any graphics on them yet, but that may

still come.  I do like the game as it is,

but the graphics would make it nice.

There is onboard help for playing the

game and the overall idea behind it.

I used to play this game on a Windows

machine and couldn't find it for the

PalmOS, so I decided to write it

myself so I could play it.  Even

though the program doesn't check

for some of the rules yet, I try to

stick with them when I play so I

get used to it for when I get time

to get everything working right.

I hope someone else can get some

enjoyment out of this as it has been

a pain to write! (due to a bug I found

in the software! <self inflicted>)

update:

10-2-03

Implemented some rules of the game.

I added rules so only 3 cards can be

selected at a time, and all cards have

to be adjacent to each other.

-still working on getting over 10

frames to work.  The code is there

for scoring, but I don't have support to

go beyond the 10 frames for keeping track

of the pins just yet.  More to come....

also working on color support, but

gameplay is more important at the

moment.  I would like to hear some

feedback from you.  The more I hear,

the more I work on it.  And maybe the more

features I will add.  I welcome all

suggestions and comments.

Important update!!!

I found a memory bug on versions

lower than 1.9, so Please don't use

them.  I'm not sure if that is what

crashed my palm today or not, but

I have it fixed on version 1.9.  I

never actually exited the program on

the emulator so I never found it until

I did.  I corrected it and a few

"selection" bugs when selecting

up to three cards in a certain

order.  So far it looks like all I

need is time to get the frame

10+ working and maybe some

color if I feel real ambitious

while programming.  Hey! I

may even change the cards

to graphics, but it is still fun

as is, just doesn't look as nice.

10-4-03

I got the 10+ frames working,

only pick 3 cards, all cards

have to be next to each other.

scoring is right and now I have

COLOR!

This is out of beta and should

be working fine.  I have maybe

some cosmetic work to do but if

you find any trouble or bug with

the program, Please let me know!

10-5-03

fixed minor bug with frame 10

spare score adding another extra

frame.  Also added other

background colors to choose from.

10-7-03

Fixed minor bug with ball cards.

If you choose multiple cards, you

get cheated by about that many

extra cards on the ball cards.

I was losing 2-3 cards per frame.

I found the problem, fixed it

and can't believe nobody else

found it or at least turned in

a bug report on it.

I now have multiple downloads

for each default background color.

I know, I need to get the program

to just remember each selection, but

I have a database book on the way

and will add it when I learn it better.

The one I was using was a Db class

which was easy to use, but that was

when I used Mobile Studios.

10-9-03

Fixed bug with card selection that

I wasn't even aware that it should

do.  You can now add up 3 cards

and the last digit of the sum will

be what counts.  So a card 10,

2, and 1 would be able to use

a 3 ball card to clear.

Other bug fixed were fixed that

I found also.

10-12-03

updated program to allow user to

change background to any color

and also for the text with a

color chooser dialog.  I also

have a high score in the upper

right corner.  But I don't have

any database support as of yet

to keep the setting chosen so

when the program closes and

reopens you get the defaults

back and a high game of 0.

I'm working on database support

to keep track of stuff, but until

then, enjoy your free program

until I get things done.

I'll keep the 2.6 version so

you can have the default

background colors until I

get around to making the

other default background

colors and of course the

database support so none

of this is needed anyway.

11-01-03

Added support for saving

high game and text/

background color.

BibleGameC VB5

This program is like my other BibleGame versions

with a few exceptions.  When a correct book in

clicked on, it sends it to the proper place and

then disables that button so no points will count

against you if you click it again.  The little R button

at the top of the screen is the random or scramble

button.  If you press that button the books will be

displayed in a random scrambled order but be

warned, it is VERY slow at doing it.  It took

a minute and a half to scramble them all, but it

is a more challenging because you not only have

to know what the book it, you now will have to

find it.  I personally like the original order, but

others may like the added feature.  The scoring

is as follows.  You get 10 points for a correct

book, -5 points for a wrong guess and -1 point

for using the help.  The max points will be 660.

This program was written with Visual Builder 5

from Quicktap.com and now includes color

support and should also work on B/W.

update:

about 10 seconds.  It ranges from 5-30 seconds

with 10 seconds being the normal time.

Character Names

This program was converted from

my windows version.  You select your

name from the list of 770 names and

the program displays the meaning and

Bible verse for you.  The names,

meanings, and verses were from a

pamphlet I got from a local Bible

book store years ago.  I used it all

the time and over time it started to

degrade and it was getting hard to

see all the words so I decided to

convert them to a spreadsheet.

I then copied them to a program

and made an electronic version.

And now I have a PalmOS vserion

also.

Number Memory Game

This program was written as a

suggestion from a guy I got an email

from awhile ago.  This Program will

display a number for a given amount

of time before it is removed from view.

The user needs to enter the same number

and press the check button to see if the

number is correct.  If it is right it will

state the fact and take time off of the

time the number is displayed and go

on and if the guess is not correct the

time the number is displayed will

remain the same until you answer

a guess correctly.

The program is pretty much functional

but it seems to give the first answer

wrong even if it is right, but it is a

work in progress and suggestions or

bug reports always welcome.

I'm making the source available

to those who would like to

modify it and to play around with

Visual Builder 5.0 from quicktap software.

The program is really close to Visual C

from Microsoft and I feel right at home

with it.

update:

7-20-03

I updated the program in response to some

suggestions and the program will now allow

the user to adjust the number of digits that

are displayed from 3-9 digits.  The user can

also adjust the starting display time from

100-900mS and 1-5seconds.

update:

7-21-03

I fix a bug with the program messing

up(crashing) with the error for some

pen queve and added the ability

to just tap to enter the numbers.

upate:

7-24-03

I added a feature to make gameplay

harder as you go.  After reaching 10mS

display time and getting 25 right answers

you progress to selected digits + 1 and

every 25 after that it increased the number

of displayed digits until 9 digits are reached

and then it stays there. GOOD LUCK!

update:

8-9-03

Added display for the the correct answer

to be displayed if answer was entered

wrong.

update:

8-12-03

Added ability to view number an extra

time if you missed it the first time or

just wasn't looking when it was

displayed.

Update: 10-26-03

I added save screen support.

Personality Test

This program was written after my Psychology teacher handed out

the test on paper.  I converted it to a program, and then I took it.

I still have some work to do for when your personality matches two

different ones, it only shows the second one or last one, even though

you may match more than one.  I made it easier to enter the numbers

by the use of buttons.  In order to take the "test", you need to enter the

numbers 4,3,2,1 into the spaces provided to the right of the personality

types.  You can either type them in, or just click on the one that is most

like you which will enter a 4, then the next one most like you which will

enter a 3, until you get to the least like you which will enter a 1.  Once

you enter in all the numbers which will add up to 10, you can click

on the --> button to go to the next one or <-- which will take you to the

previous one.  Once you have all 10 entered in and you get back to the

first question, click on the done button to see what personality type

you are.  I do not take any responsibility for the accuracy of this test

due to just programming it from the paper I got from my teacher.

The program is still pretty much beta, but it does seem to work

fairly well none the less.

Fall Timer

This program is a simple physics program used to estimate the distance

an object falls.  You use the program by pressing and holding the big

button until you drop an object.  When you drop the object, let go of the

button at the same time you let go of the button.  When the object hits

the ground, press the button and release it.  The program will then give

you the estimated distance the object fill.  The program is a bit more

accurate at around 6-10ft as a minimum.  I tried it about 8.5ft and it

was only a few inches off and I tried it at work and at 34feet, the

program showed 37 feet, so it seems to be close enough to estimate

it.  I used the same formula on the latest Star Wars (c) movie and found

that one of the ships coming out of the hanger dropped around 475ft

just because I was curious.  So I created the program to play around

with.

Update:

Thanks to

Johnathan K. Burchill, Ph.D. candidate
Department of Physics and Astronomy
University of Calgary
2500 University Drive N.W.
Calgary, AB T2N 1N4

for sample source code to implement air resistance into the

falling object to account for terminal velocity.  The calculations

seem to be a bit more accurate and I added a screen to

choose what object you are using for measurement or you

can edit the values yourself.  I will be looking up a little more

objects to add and hopefully will have accurate values for

the objects I choose.

This is a program I wrote for my sister who does preneed for a funeral home in the

area.  I wrote it so she didn't have to do much work to calculate things.  It will

give her the clients monthly premium, face value, funeral costs, future-past

calculations, her commission amount and a bunch of other things that don't

make any sense to me.  This program is not available for download due to

the nature of the program (sorry!).  But here is a screen shot of it anyway if

incase I sell it to others my Sister works with.  That way, they can

make changes without any fees for me recompiling the software.

I may make this program available to PreNeed agents that my

sister works with or around.  This all depends on what kind of interest

I get on the program.  If not enough, then just my sister gets it I

BibleGameB for PalmOS

This program was written with the Appforge 2.0 plugin for visual

Basic.  I didn't have time to enter the competition due to other

competitions, but they extended it a week which game be time

to be able to enter the program for the competition.  I wrote it

to get a better idea of how easy it is to use and how quick an

app could be written.  I took about 3 days to write this app from

the time I started it until I sent in the app for the contest.  I have

included full source code for those who have the plugin and want

another app to become familiar with.  There are many things that

could be done to this source to enhance it or make it better, so if

that sounds like something you want to do...have at it!  The zip file

includes the prc file along with the source code.  You will however

need to install the booster onto your device which you can get from

Appforge website.

BibleGame for PalmOS

This program will test your knowledge of the Books of the Bible

in a little more of a fun way or as a game type setting.  I was asked

to write this program by Scott Freedlun, and started to play around

with a few layouts.  Everything is very tight, but should be just as

usable none the less.

I started with NSBasic for speed, but now have a C version which

is lots smaller (1/5 the size) and runs faster.

Here is the NSBasic version:

seems to work fine....please report any bugs you find.

thanks and enjoy.

I added the feature of a timer from the time you press your

first button, until you finish the game.  The time is displayed

in seconds so you can track your progress.

Books of the Bible for PalmOs - written in C

Updated:

This is the same program as above accept I'm writing it in C.  It is a stand alone
program that runs much faster and doesn't require the 85k runtime file and the
program is only 13k in size right now.  I don't have the program completely
done, but most of the functions work.  The history window, entering text manually,
and better color support are not working yet.  I'm planning on having more features
on this program due to it being able to run fast enough to handle it.  The program
looks pretty much like the screenshot above, but is much smaller and a whole lot
faster.  Please don't email me with bugs yet as it is still a work in progress and has
not been fully tested.  You can download the new version written in C and compiled
using gcc compiler and PilotMag as the IDE, here....BotBfP.prc(13k)
(Caution!!!! This version will overwrite the NSBasic version)

Here is Books of the Bible for PalmOS that Carl Quick asked if he could work on

for me and he has done a fabulous job, better than I could have done.  It has new

features and a new look to the interface.  The program is done and looks GREAT!

Works well and is only 22k in size. It is a lot faster than the NSBasic version and a

lot smaller also.

 Free Binary Clock for Palm

Name changed with accordance with Palm.com

Updated:
2-19-01

I'm using gcc and PilotMag to write this program.  I have more ideas for

the program, but only have the display working to show the time with binary

digits, but I'll be working on other features as time allows.

I had some recommendations to add a few features to include a digital

readout, which I plan on doing, and also adding the ability to change

the background color and digit (dot) color also and anything else I can

get done with the program...thanks for the suggestions that were turned

in!...Danny

I got the idea of making this clock from here and yes, I do own one.

I added the ability to change to 24 hr military time.

I now have BIG digits to view the time with. I am also

working on being able to change the digit size, but

don't have it working yet...need more time!

Fixed the bug with 12am time displayed as 0 and

now displays 12 instead of 00.

for the Palm IIIc only!

This is the same program as above but

was written with Visual Builder 5 from

quicktap software.  The only real

difference is that it supports a color

icon now.

Added lots of stuff.  You can chose

the background color, text color,

dot color, place holder color and

even chose whether to display the

time with numbers along with the

binary digits.  You can rotate the

screen from vertical to horizontal

and back.  The program also saves

all your preferences now.  Supports

both color and black/white.

12-24-03:

Fixed bug with b/w not erasing

old digits when switching screen

layout.
